THE
KEVIN JUNG FAMILY SUPPORT FUND TRUST
U.S. Bank
On November
3rd, Bellevue attorney Kevin Jung sustained serious injuries while
leaving his office for court. A short time later, police arrested Mill
Creek attorney William Joice, the alleged assailant and opposing counsel
in a pending civil case in Snohomish County Superior Court. Mr. Joice
is incarcerated on a charge of first-degree attempted murder. After
a one month hospital stay, Kevin has been discharged to nursing home
care; he faces a long and difficult road to recovery.
Kevin, age 44,
has been the sole support of his wife, Sally, and their two boys, Brendan,
age 12, and Bryan, age 9. Kevin and Sally were born in South Korea,
and their story is the classic American immigrant success story. Kevin
was conducting a successful solo practice specializing in business transactions
and immigration law issues. He was well known and respected within the
Korean-American community and his clients were primarily from that community.
He served his community in multiple ways, writing legal advice columns
in the Korean media and appearing regularly on the local Korean cable
access channel.
We're limited
in what we can do to help Kevin, but we can do a world of good for Kevin's
family. The family has created a support fund at U.S. Bank to partially
replace the income lost by Kevin's injury and to assist with ongoing
non-covered medical and family expenses. The initial response from the
legal community, the Korean American community, and his clients, friends
and neighbors has been gratifying and overwhelming, but continued help
is essential.
You can help the Jung family immeasurably by making a generous contribution
to The Kevin Jung Family Support Fund Trust. Contributions can be made
over the counter at any U.S. Bank branch, or by mailing a check payable
